We are excited to invite you to this event, focused on getting you READY and INFORMED for long distance training.  Tackling long mileage is very rewarding and challenging, and it requires that you are properly prepared!  We invite you to join us on July 28th to hear from product experts, and be inspired!

We have three really big things happening that you won't want to miss!

1) An incredibly motivational presentation by the ONE AND ONLY Dick Beardsley.  Dick is a running legend and we are so lucky to host him on the 28th.  Learn more and RSVP for the Dick Beardsley Presentation HERE.  This presentation has limited seating for 60 attendees and RSVP is required.  This will fill up fast, don't wait!! Grab your spot!

2) Brand Experts, Demo Product, and Education:  Join us anytime 10AM-3PM to learn from product experts!  Long distance training requires the right gear to prevent injury and to keep you comfortable and healthy.  It's not just about the shoes....there's much more to it.  Visit us on the 28th to learn how compression, hydration, nutrition, self-massage all play a big role in healthy training.  You'll have a chance to demo product during the 10K Strava Run (below info!), test it out, see what you like, and experience it.  And... you'll save 10% on these featured vendors!

We will host a couple medical partners that are your KEY to staying healthy.  Meet them now, before you risk injury, to ask your aches and pains questions.  Have a nagging muscle ache? Ask about it now.  Have recurring tendonitis? Ask about it now!  Being prepared with how to treat aches, pains, and recurring injuries is a key part of long distance training.  Remember- running IS an ache sport.

 4) 10K Strava Run:  Run our 10K Strava course on July 28th and be entered to win!  Course will be open starting at 6AM (directional signs and cue cards available that morning at Fleet Feet).  Demo product will be available to test out on your run from 10AM-3PM.  Everyone that participates in the 10K course on July 28th, AND POSTS THEIR RUN ON STRAVA, will be entered to win a $100 certificate toward a new Garmin purchase. 

5) And more:

  • Coaches for each program will be on hand to answer additional questions about training, training philosophy, and how you can best prepare for your event. 
  • DoJo (the absolute yummiest donuts you've ever tasted) will be on site with their DoJo truck! 

Finally, on July 28th only, you'll save $20 on Fall Half Marathon & Marathon training registration fee.  Must register in-store.


Fall Long Distance Training Program Information

Marathon

Marathon training kicks off August 11th and the program is structured to get you ready for any Fall marathon between October 27th and November 11th.  This program will meet on Tuesdays at 6PM and Saturdays at 7:00AM.  Some Saturday practices will meet earlier than 7AM pending heat conditions and distances.
Kickoff Meeting: Saturday, August 11th, 9AM
First Practice: Tuesday, August 14th, 6PM 

Training Plan Ideal for Races October 27th - November 11th, including: 
October 28th: Marine Corps Marathon
November 3rd: Charlotte Marathon (our program will specifically train for this race)
November 3rd: Savannah Marathon
November 4th: NYC Marathon
November 10th: Richmond Marathon

Half Marathon
Half marathon training kicks off September 1st and will get you ready for either the Richmond Half Marathon (November 11th) or the Mistletoe Half Marathon (December 1st).  This Fall we are offering 3 different levels of half marathon training:

FINISH: For runners training for this distance for the FIRST time.  Goal is to cross the finish line happily!
Kickoff Meeting: Saturday, September 1, 8AM
First Practice: Saturday, September 8, 8AM.  Weekly practice times: Mondays 6PM and Saturdays 8AM

FOUNDATION: For runners that have run a half marathon before, and are looking to improve pace and endurance.
Kickoff Meeting: Saturday, September 1, 7AM
First Practice: Tuesday, September 4, 6:15PM.  Weekly practice times: Tuesdays 6:15PM and Saturdays 7:30AM

FAST: Designed for runners that have run a half marathon before, and are prepared for intense training and are pursuing a competitive race time. 
Kickoff Meeting: Saturday, September 1, 7AM
First Practice: Tuesday, September 4, 6:15PM.  Weekly practice times: Tuesdays 6:15PM and Saturdays 7:30AM

If you've never done a half marathon or a marathon, we highly encourage you to consider these training programs.  There is something special about long distance training.  Yes, it's a lot of miles, but we train you mile by mile to get there- and it is a very rewarding experience!
