2019 Half Marathon Training

For the winter season, we are consolidating half marathon training into one group.  This will include both foundation and advanced training participants.  There is an assumption that participants will have had some experience training with this distance and will have been training regularly in the weeks leading up to the beginning of the program. 

Registration fee: $150
Coached workouts: Tuesdays 6pm & Saturdays 7am
Additional Training: Wednesday 6pm We Run Winston group runs
Program Duration: 12 weeks
Kickoff Meeting: 1/12/19 8:30am in the TEC Room at Fleet Feet
First Workout: 1/15/19 6pm
Goal Race:  Training program will peak for a mid-April race, see list below
1st Week mileage: 4 weekly runs for totaling 20+ miles
1st Week longest run: 7-8 miles

The FFRC coaching team will not be traveling to any particular goal race.  The winter half marathon training program will prepare participants for a racing window that includes:

  • Craft Half (4/6/19 Winston-Salem)
  • Runner Dude 10 Miler (4/7/19 Greensboro)
  • Tar heel 10 Miler (4/13/19 Chapel Hill)
  • Charlotte Racefest Half (4/13/19 Charlotte)
  • Charity Chase Half (4/13/19 Hickory)
  • Blue Ridge Half (4/13/19 Roanoke)
  • Oak Island Lighthouse Half (4/13/19 Oak Island)
  • Flying Pirate Half (4/14/19 Kitty Hawk)
