Meet Our Shoe Fit Specialists!

Meet our Staff!

Nancy Lacy: Full-time Sales Associate
Nancy Lacy joined us in August 2008 after 8 years in an internal medicine office.  She has been practicing power yoga with Deb Lazer since 2000 and is a dedicated walker; she credits those non-competitive activities for steering her away from the sedentary and chubby life for which she seemed destined.  She has never imagined herself running except in an emergency, so it was a real leap of faith for her to complete the Fleet Feet Sports 5K training program.  Nancy loves to read and listen to KEXP, and is grateful to plants when they grow in her garden.  She and her husband, Bill, have 2 sons at UNC Asheville, and a golden retriever who loves Balega socks.

Karlyn Donohoe: Full-time Sales Associate
Karlyn joined our staff in March 2009.  Her career history is a unique combination of pastry art, fine art, and personal concierge services.  Over the years, Karlyn has held positions in the studios of wedding cake designers, artists and sculptors, as well as a personal assistant to corporate executives and business owners.   She started running simply as a means to relieve the stress of a long day; but after completing Fleet Feet's Half Marathon training program, she realized that she loves the longer runs and the structure of a training schedule.  In her spare time, Karlyn enjoys oil painting, hanging out with her family and obsessing over the fact that she has registered to run the Marine Corps Marathon in October 2009.

Rich Brandon: Full-Time Sales Associate
Rich comes to us from Philadelphia, PA where he founded, owned and operated two businesses before moving to Winston-Salem.  Before taking the leap to business ownership in 2004, Rich spent 6 successful years as a marketing manager in the logistics industry.  Rich lives in Winston-Salem with his girlfriend who, like him, is an avid runner and sports enthusiast.  Don’t tell him this, but the Fleet Feet Sports staff secretly makes fun of his Philly vernacular (although they do like to hear him say “awesome”!)  Rich likes a good futomaki, cool autumn evenings and Tom & Jerry reruns.

Anna McAfee: Full-Time Sales Associate
Anna joined the staff in August 2009 and brought with her an extensive retail background from Banana Republic and Ann Taylor.  Along with her 15+ years experience in retail management and merchandising she leads an active life.  Her interests include photography, rock-climbing, sports and dance (her favorite).  She has performed with the Knoxville Ballet Company, the Pittsburgh Ballet Company, and the University of South Carolina Dance Team.  After college she coached a High School Dance Team in Pittsburgh, PA.  Anna loves to stay "movin' and groovin' ", and that's what brought her to Fleet Feet Sports.  After participating in many of our fun runs, she decided to "tri" a triathlon and signed up for Tri4Women.  She enjoyed the Ramblin Rose Triathlon so much that she raced in the Angel's Triathlon a month later. She's hooked!  Anna has lived in 7 states and 10 cities, but now she calls Winston-Salem home with her son, daughter, and 3 Beta fish. ( Joe, Sidney, and Crosby) Any avid ice hockey fans will know the last two fish names.  Which were proudly named by her son.....

Heather Poindexter:  Part-time Sales Associate
Heather joined the staff in August 2008 after graduating and returning home to Winston-Salem.  She played softball for Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science.  She is currently working to finish a second bachelors in Nursing and enjoys playing and coaching softball, running, and spending time with her family and friends and playing with her seven month old German Shepherd, Kai.

Stacie Battjes:  Training Program Coach
Stacie joins us after moving to Winston-Salem in the Fall of 2006 from Midland, Michigan. Stacie has a strong background in competing and coaching. She ran track and cross country at Central Michigan University where she graduated with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Athletic Coaching. She has spent 5 years coaching high school track and field, and has volunteered as a coach for Girls on the Run since moving to North Carolina. Stacie is also a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor who loves to share her passion for running and fitness with beginners and veterans alike. Stacie’s free time is spent with the two loves in her life: her husband Dan and their new puppy Haley.
