- How have training programs and running/walking/triathlon changed your life? When I signed up in January 2009 for my first No Boundaries, I was regularly walking and doing some strength training, but had only dabbled in running. I saw the ad for No Boundaries in the newspaper and was inspired to give it a try, even though I had just found out I was pregnant with my third child. During No Bo training, I saw info at Fleet Feet about triathlons. I had no idea what they were, but I was curious. I decided that once my new baby was older, I would like to try a tri! So in the summer of 2011 I did Tri for Women training for the Ramblin' Rose - and was hooked! Over the next few years I proceeded to train for other sprint tris and 2 internationals with Fleet Feet. (mixed in with some occasional 10K and half marathon training) The supportive environment for training at FF is amazing, and the knowledgeable staff are so helpful. As a stay-at-home mom, it is rare for me to feel I accomplish anything. :) It will take months and years of raising my children before I may see any visible results! This training at Fleet Feet helped me to see how much I could accomplish by setting a goal, and working a little each day gradually toward that goal. I am applying this to so many areas of my life! On days when I am discouraged, I remind myself that I went from not running, swimming or biking at all to completing a half marathon and international triathlon. Keeping focused on the end goal and being slow and steady with your efforts each day WILL get you there. THANK YOU, Fleet Feet! I'm more grateful than I can express.
