What is the Certified Mentor Training Program?
The program will be offered in both January and June and will include a 4 week curriculum designed to prepare mentors to properly represent Fleet Feet Sports, our mission, and better assist participants toward their fitness goal. The Certification Program will be by application only and will be capped at 50 mentor coaches per session (2 sessions per year).
The January 2012 program will begin Thursday, January 5th with a kickoff meeting at 7:15pm at Fleet Feet Sports.
Participants will meet on the following Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm – 7pm at Forsyth Medical Center to explore topics and conversations that will enhance the experience of our Training Program Participants.
The program will end with a Celebration Party on Monday, January 30th at 6pm.

- Identifying Characteristics in a Quality Coach/Mentor
- Safety on the Run
- Stretching and Strengthening Whys and Hows
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Superfeet
- Dealing with Injury
- Good Form Running
- How to Keep Training Fun and Educational
- How to Transition Participants Past Training
- And more!
Upon completion of the Certified Mentor Program participants will receive a goodie bag with gifts from our Top Vendors. In addition Certified Mentors will be asked to volunteer for two Fleet Feet Sports Training Programs each year and to serve as ambassadors of Fleet Feet Sports Training Programs within the Winston-Salem community. Certified mentors will receive additional incentives and discounts to Fleet Feet Sports when they are actively serving as a mentor coach.
