*Note:  RP = Race Pace

Miles 1-2:  RP+15-20 seconds
Should feel slow
The crowd is helping you slow down – use it

Mile 3:  RP+ 10 seconds
Starting to get through the crowds to settle in

Miles 4-9:  RP
Find your comfort zone
As you get fatigued think about cadence
Plan ahead with nutrition

Miles 10&11:  RP -10 seconds
Consider how much more uncomfortable are you willing to get
Will not be an easy shift, but pull away from your pack
You will be passing people

Mile 12:  RP-?
No reason to hold back at this point – let it go!
